Learning About Gundogs - May 19

Learning About Gundogs - May 19

with Helen Phillips

People are choosing gundogs more and more as family pets. These 'working' dogs come with a long history of inherited talent that includes a high desire to retrieve everything, exhaustive tenacity and enthusiasm to complete challenges, but the fall out of this can be resource issues, over arousal, in ability to relax, and a desire to hunt and practice prey behaviours. Gundogs do make great companions but often their work ethic and innate behaviours interfere with the family harmony.

The idea of this workshop is to teach you about what makes your gundog and how to use these skills to maintain a harmony so you all enjoy life more. On the day there is an opportunity to work with some of the dogs to explore their particular talents and look at some rehabilitation strategies.

Barns opens at 10am for a 10.30 start, finishing by 3.30pm
