Clicker Training is one of the most powerful forms of communication and teaching. It allows us to build learning across all species that is reliable, strong and fluent. But without effective connection through the cues these exquisitely taught behaviours can be lost.
Learn how to put a behaviour "on cue" and how you cue deleivery affects behaviour. The range of cues we can use through touch, visual signals, objects, environments, locations, activities and sound. Strengthen the learner’s connection of the cue to the behaviour and build high levels of response. Use cues to change emotions and as reinforcers themselves.
Reinforcers are affecting our training all of the time. Learn how to use a variety of different reinforcers, from the very mild to the very strong. Learn how to deliver with the right speed, pace, and precision. Become aware of unintentional reinforcement and how you can taint reinforcement.
Training time would be expected to be at least 2-3 hours per week, plus 2-3 hours of activities in the virtual learning environment. We advise you to enrol at least 2 weeks before the start of the course to familiarise yourself with Moodle, the virtual learning environment, unless you are a previous Moodle user.
