We all learn together: there is no beginner or advanced learners; every time we take a new look at the foundation skills and principles we learn more. We learn to question what was previously assumed.
Inspired
Explore the Voyage of Discovery WORKBOOKS and be inspired to learn: how Rewards can shift the learning, how cues can become the markers, or that simple Cup On A Stick can build exquisite understanding.
Clarity will build confidence for both you and your dog. Where understanding changes the way you “see with new eyes”.

Build the Future courses have been running for over 5 years and enjoy a wide range of inspiring and talents dogs and trainers.
These are some of our moments:
☀ Turning around a hesitant pup to a confident, bring-it-on type of learner.
☀ Support for those first few months of a new family member: all the questions that keep you awake at night
☀ Getting it right in the ring: learning what is going to bring out the best in your dog in those challenging surroundings and avoiding the onlooker advice that seems to come from the recipe book.
☀ Cleaning up the retrieve: taking it to the next level and teaching cup stacking precision, match to sample and “where does it belong” concepts.
☀ Proprioception skills for the young, the elderly, the recovery from injury. Rebuilding the walk, seeing the importance of balance and closing perceptive judgements.
☀ Everyday life skills that coast along but you can improve and adjust for that better conversation: doorgate – where it stops being the daily catastrophe; the walking conversations we can enjoy;
☀ The technology that surrounds all our training: targets that add wings to the learning; chains and sequences that can become tangled; the all important cues and our personal discipline for quality delivery.
☀ At the centre of all we do: REWARDS. We will keep learning more about the nuances and discoveries that build this flow between us.
You are welcome to work on your own project, explore new learning and take inspiration from others in our amazing BTF community.
“Build The Future Course has been an absolute revelation for me, has done wonders for Tighnearnan physically and mentally, and has been such a pleasure. I was really worried about how little experience and knowledge I was bringing to it, but Kay and my classmates were wonderfully encouraging and helpful, and I learned so much that I can transfer and apply in so many scenarios.”
“I have never been in a class with so much vigor to learning, so much striving to give and to try so hard to learn new ways and understand. All of this centered around providing the best for the pups!”
“The importance of thinking in terms of developing skills rather than building behaviours”
“We discovered more about each other, learned to communicate better, and shared so much pleasure at creating and exploring together.”
